Built on the belief that healing starts with being heard
Whole Healthy Family was founded on a simple idea: patients heal faster when someone takes the time to understand them. For over thirty years, Dr. Perry Levenson has practiced acupuncture and Chinese medicine with that principle at the center of his work — listening first, then building a plan around the person in front of him, not a protocol.
The practice draws on more than 3,000 years of clinical tradition, refined by the modern techniques Dr. Levenson has pursued over three decades of continuing study. It's a combination few practices in the region can offer — ancient and modern, gentle and rigorous, grounded in experience and still curious.
Patients often arrive here after other doctors have stopped asking questions. Many have lived with chronic pain, anxiety, or the aftermath of cancer treatment for years. What they find at Whole Healthy Family isn't a quick fix. It's a relationship with a practitioner who has the time to understand what's really going on — and the skill to help the body find its way back.

A better kind of healing relationship
Most patients come here after months or years of feeling rushed through visits. Here's what care feels like when it's built around you — not a clipboard, a protocol, or a clock.
Listening comes first
Every visit starts with a conversation — what's happening, what's changed, what matters to you.
Ancient meets modern
Traditional Chinese medicine refined by decades of modern clinical study.
Built for you, not a protocol
Every plan is individualized, built from careful assessment and adjusted as your body responds.
Experience in the hard cases
Neuropathy, trigeminal neuralgia, migraines, post-surgical recovery — thirty years of hard-won insight.
Whole-person support
Breathing, meditation, and stress-reduction practices woven into every plan — not just your session.
Time you can feel
Unhurried appointments built for real conversation and careful work — not a fifteen-minute window.
Get to know Dr. Perry Levenson

Dr. Perry Levenson didn't start out in medicine. His first career was on a trading floor in New York, where he worked as a precious metals trader. His second was on stage — performing off-off Broadway, in regional theater, and in television commercials. Both careers taught him to read people: what someone is really saying, what they're holding back, what they need before they can say it out loud.
The turn toward medicine came by accident. In the early 1990s, a friend complained of neck and shoulder pain, and Perry offered a massage. A few minutes in, she looked up and said, "You should do this for a living." That sentence redirected the rest of his career. He trained first in AMMA therapy — a Korean-based bodywork practice — and followed it into the deeper study of acupuncture and Chinese medicine.
Thirty years later, he's still studying. He has pursued advanced training in electro-acupuncture with some of the most respected educators in the field — techniques that transformed his practice and that few clinics in the region can match. What hasn't changed is the belief that shapes everything he does: that the body, mind, and spirit don't heal in isolation. True health comes from mental, physical, and spiritual balance — and every treatment plan here is built around that principle.
He teaches the breathing and meditation practices he uses himself. He adjusts plans as patients respond. And he listens — genuinely listens — before he does anything else.
The world needs a holistic approach to so many of its troubles. Perry is a brave and kind soul who has touched many lives and will continue to.
